Baby Norah, such a beauty. I was taken by her perfect little nose and sweet puckered lips. She was just three days old when these photos were taken and was such a tiny little thing! Another bow from Modern Piggy made an appearance as did a blanket from XOSJ Knits! I loved everything about this session but especially the soft, warm light coming into the bedroom in these first photos--so lovely. I could have taken photos of this angel in it all day long!

This darling little girl is Emme. She surprised her parents and gave them an early Christmas present by arriving a few weeks early! Seeing how happy new parents are and the incredible amount of love they show towards the new addition into there lives never gets old, and these two were glowing. She is nothing short of wonderful and how cute are the bows she's wearing? The gray one and the brown one are both from Modern Piggy-- I might have to get a few myself to use in future sessions!

Half of this family lives on the other side of the country and I was lucky enough to meet all of them while they were together for Thanksgiving. It was a super chilly morning but it gave us some incredibly gorgeous sunlight, and that combined with beautiful people, I wasn't complaining! Three-year-old Miss Stella stole the show and you'd have no idea it was freezing by her huge smile you see in all of these photos! It was my first time doing a session at the Olympic Sculpture Park and I've determined I need to do it more often!

I love the big weddings and all the details that go into them, but I'm envious of how Matt & Marijke celebrated, and there is definitely something to be said about a small, intimate wedding. These two had a perfect little ceremony at the Little London Plane in Pioneer Square and were surrounded by their close family as they said their 'I do's'. They were wonderfully goofy and the evening was filled with so much love and laughter. What more do you need?

I met Jeremy and Jessica a couple years ago at a friend's annual holiday party. At the next year's party, Jessica had the cutest little baby bump and I was crossing my fingers they'd contact me for photos! I'm so glad they did and getting to meet Henry was such a pleasure! Look at those big blue eyes! Aren't they amazing?! He's clearly incredibly loved-- thank you so much J&J for letting me capture that for you!

This was such a gorgeous fall day. Once October hits, you never really know what kind weather Seattle is going to give you, and as per usual, even though it was forecast to rain pretty much all weekend long, we were surprised with some lovely sunlight. I'm so glad we were able to check out this little gem of a park at Martha Lake. Bethany and Tylor were great to work with and they have some incredibly cute kiddos!

Sweet baby Georgia Faye. Just look at that darling little girl. I think one of the best part of this job (besides everything!) is that I get to meet all these perfect, new little humans. Every session brings me a new wave of happiness. Lucky for me, these newborn sessions keep coming! Georgia's parents were awesome and I loved that they let me play around with a blanket and newborn hat I brought with me from XOSJ Knits (she loves making anything and everything knitted!) We ended up with a little hipster baby at the end when we improvised with the flannel I was wearing. Stinking cute. I'm so glad I get to meet families like this one!

Finally getting this wedding posted from this past fall! The lovely bride is my cousin Katey, and it was such a pleasure to get to see her marry Sean. She couldn't have picked a better guy. I feel so honored to have been asked to photograph their wedding and it was clear how much thought was put into every little detail of the day. I remember thinking the entire time what an amazing bride Katey was-- so cool and calm the entire time. I know a lot of it has to do with her wonderful personality, but she also had such an incredible group of family and friends making sure everything went exactly how it should. They even secretly arranged for Sean & Katey's dog to surprise them at the end of the ceremony. I could tell you all the great things about the day, but I'll let the photos do that. :) Sean & Katey-- Thank you so much and cheers to a life full of happiness together!

This session was AWESOME, definitely one of my favorites to date and I'm so excited to be sharing it! What's not to love about it? You have two adorable girls with pigtails and the cutest outfits, two amazing moms, a beautiful house with so much perfect light, cookie making (the girls' own recipe...), embracing of the rainy day by jumping in puddles, and just lots and lots of laughs. I could go on and on about how much I love Amanda and Alise's decorating style. This family is so full of love and I am so, so, sooo happy that they invited me into their home to capture it!

Say hi to Cooper and big sister Riley! Cooper knew how these newborn sessions work and passed out pretty quickly. He was such a sweetheart and made my job easy! I'm in love with the simplicity of the white onesie on the white bedspread. I think Riley was still trying to figure out what this new baby was all about, but she was giving me some pretty adorable smiles. I'm so used to taking photos with first-time parents, so it was fun to have a newborn with an older sibling!

This is an incredibly delayed post! Life got busy, holy cow!! I'm so incredibly grateful though and the past few months have been amazing. I've met tons of new families, and lots and lots of adorable children! It's still crazy to me to call it "work". As the busy season comes to an end, I look back on adventures like this one this past summer and look forward to having more like it. This weekend in August took us to Cannon Beach on the Oregon coast and these are the types of weekends I cherish. I couldn't have asked for a better mix of people to go with -- an old high school friend, and two friends made here in Seattle-- all of which who really didn't know each other very well, but it was perfect. In the end, they all left the best of friends. We cooked some delicious meals, shucked fresh oysters (some of us were better at it than others--meaning I'm not), wandered along the beach, enjoyed some stunning sunsets and overall it was just a nice change of pace and allowed us to slow life down a bit. It's needed sometimes, and my goal for 2016 is to make things like this a priority.

This darling little girl's name is Paige and I had the pleasure of meeting her and her parents a couple weeks ago. The weather forecast said it was supposed to rain all weekend and while it was a little wet, we actually had a tiny bit of sun for a bit. We definitely got lucky, as five minutes after we finished the session, it started pouring rain. That's Seattle for ya.
I love how this session just screams fall. The warm colors they are dressed in, the beautiful golden leaves, and those insanely cute boots on Paige's feet. I wish those fall colors could stick around forever.
Sam, Natalie & Billie
Say hi to beautiful Billie my friends! This little girl has some darn good genes! I took photos of her when she was a week old, and she slept the entire time, to the point where it was a struggle to get her to wake up and show her lovely little eyes. She has only gotten cuter and this time she was plenty happy to be awake! We spent a little time at the conservatory at Volunteer Park, which kept us warm and dry from the pouring rain and wind that the weekend brought. It was my first time being there and I'm madly in love with it.
I still feel like I am fairly new to all of this, so when people come back to me for more photos, it's always an affirmation that they like my work, and is an incredibly good feeling. I'm especially glad I could take more photos of Billie because she is pretty much the cutest thing ever!
Lindsey & Brandon {the engagement}
I love the story of how I met these two amazing people! If you remember a few months back, I had taken a trip to the Oregon coast for a little weekend vacation. The group of people I was with decided to go watch the sunset down on the beach and not long after sitting there, we spotted way down the beach, a guy get down on one knee and propose! Of course I had my camera with me, and it was decided very quickly that I need to run down the beach to document such a special moment for them. Let me tell you, running a good distance in soft sand is much harder than it looks. I got about half way and decided they would still be just as happy when I got to them if I walked the rest of the way. :) Their dog met me half way though and he of course had no problem running. So I walked up to them, completely out of breath, but they were happy to let me take a few photos, and we exchanged contact info. I'm so happy they ended up asking me to take their engagement photos and we had such a fun afternoon wandering around on the Washington Arboretum waterfront trail. I've been wanting so badly to take photos there and so excited they were down to check it out. Thanks you guys for such a good time and I wish you all the happiness in the world!

A family of seven you guys! I grew up in the same size family, and although we drive each other crazy sometimes, life wouldn't be the same with out them, and I know that's how these kids will feel as they get older too. They were so good with the camera and were happy to look as adorable as they possibly could for me. And those twins! Such sweet little babies. They were born two months premature and to see them so happy and healthy is just the best thing in the world. I've seen these kids grow up over the past few years and it's been so heart-warming when Ariel now runs up to me and gives me a hug when she sees me.
Big thanks to Chris's sister, Elizabeth, for letting us have this awesome space all to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon. It was perfect!
Steve, Sarah, Casen & Hudson
Sometimes things just don't go as you planned-- that darn PNW rain got us during this session, but we didn't let it stop us. These guys were having a family weekend out at Suncadia Resort near Roslyn, WA, and they asked to have their session done there. I happily agreed--I love it when people choose locations that are special to them (this is where Steve and Sarah got engaged!) It was a beautiful drive with the bright, fall colors, but unfortunately it was also a rainy drive. I was crossing my fingers that the weather would be better once I got on the other side of the pass, as it usually is, but sadly no. Regardless, we managed to get some wonderful photos and if I hadn't told you, you probably wouldn't have any idea it was raining the entire time, given the smiles on their faces. Casen started out the session really excited, especially about getting to hold the umbrella, but understandably so, we ran out of happy faces by the end. Both kids did a great job though (and the parents)!

I've made two trips back to Wisconsin in the last month and a half or so (for those of you that don't know, that's where I grew up) and have been lucky enough to spend some time with several old friends that I haven't seen much of since moving out to Seattle over FIVE years ago. I still can't believe it's been that long! Seriously, where has the time gone?! Anyways, one of those friends was Jesse. Him and his wife, Megan, brought a perfect baby girl into this world and it was such a pleasure to be able to meet her. We hung out for a few hours, caught up on life, watched the Packer game, and they were so kind to make me lunch before I had to drive back to the airport. Thanks you guys! :) It was so good to see you and Miss Marley is a lucky little girl to have such wonderful parents!

Meet Rama. :) This little guy definitely thought he should be held instead of laying all alone on the bed, but I was happy to oblige. He melted my heart looking up at me with those sweet little eyes. And can we talk about how amazing his mama looks?? Gorgeous! And the light in their bedroom.. oh my. Absolutely perfect.

This family. Louisa's red hair. Isaac's tiny little mohawk. The goofiness. All of it was just the way it should be. This session was from this summer and looking back through all of these photos, it makes me realize how I wished I could do more sessions like these. Typically, I only find myself in people's homes for newborn sessions, but look how fun this is! Isaac greeted me when I knocked on the door and he wasn't at all shy about showing me around the house. The kids were so comfortable in their own home and their true personalities were able to shine.

My dear friend, Kate, got engaged! I couldn't be more excited for her! She is the sweetest person and deserves all the happiness in the world! Kate and Jason clearly adore each other and they are so cute together. We spent a morning at Green Lake and the water + morning light was exactly what I hoped it would be. If it wasn't for a stupid crow knocking over my chai latte within the first 10 minutes, everything would have been perfect! Jason was so kind to cook breakfast afterwards and teach me some fantasy football strategy. :) I look forward to getting to know him even better and to see these two build a life together! Biggest of congratulations to you guys!
